Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies applicable legislation, documentation, policies and procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and effective establishment and maintenance of stockpile management systems to meet all required outcomes including:

preparing for and organising work activities to meet all task requirements

communicating clearly and concisely with others to issue and clarify work instructions

using a range of communication techniques and aids to advise others of work activity and exclusion zones

demonstrates completion of the establishment and maintenance of stockpile management system that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

analysing and documenting goals, objectives and strategies

investigating and analysing work environment

developing systems to achieve indicated goals and objectives

establish specifications for stockpile management systems

carrying out detailed scoping of work to identify:

key selection criteria

risk and hazard identification

required stockpile equipment

developing and implementing procedures and systems for:

hazard identification and risk evaluation

safe operation procedures

installation and commissioning of stockpile systems

emergency response and evacuation

training requirements

establishing systems for audit, review and documentation of stockpile systems, emergency procedures, training programs and non-compliance


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of the following when establishing and maintaining the stockpile management system through:

plant and equipment capabilities and limitations

use of strategic planning techniques for stockpile design and configuration

auditing, monitoring, recording and reporting systems, in consultation with stakeholders

training systems, identification of training needs for individuals and work groups, and implementation of training plans

consultation, emergency response and evacuation planning processes and techniques

critical path analysis, planning methods and techniques

corporate planning model and techniques

risk management processes and techniques

advanced negotiation and assertiveness techniques

organisational change and development process

action plans

site environmental monitoring requirements

worksite plans and operations

worksite products

emergency response and evacuation planning processes and techniques
